2007 Kuskokwim 300 Field ready

As of January 17, there are 22 teams signed up for the Kuskokwim 300. With $100,000 total prize money, and $20,000 going to the winner, it is not a surprise to see some top names entered. Four-time Iditarod champion Jeff King is signed up, as is Jon Little who was so close to winning his first race, the 2007 Knik 200. Little was narrowly beaten by King after he took a wrong turn.Yukon Quest champion Lance Mackey, winner of the Sheep Mountain 150 and Cantwell Classic is set to make it a trifecta. Mackey is running a strong team this season as he trains hard for the Yukon Quest and Iditarod, hoping to secure a victory in both of the main events.Other Iditarod and Quest veterans are entered, training for the bigger races. Mushers must get their dogs to Bethel, where the drivers are placed with host families. The K300 appreciates the effort that mushers go to get their teams to Bethel, and makes all possible arrangements to cater to the mushers needs while preparing for, and after the race. Also starting from Bethel this weekend will be the Bogus Creek and the Akiak Dash. We will post news as it comes available.
