Mushing Magazine was started by Todd and Carey Brink of Ester, Alaska in 1988. For almost twenty years, Mushing has been providing comprehensive coverage of dog-powered sports worldwide. In 2006, it was merged with Sled Dog Sports magazine, a fledgling publication started by musher Greg Sellentin, which was dedicated to sled dog competition and technology.

Today the combined publication, still called Mushing, is bigger and better than ever!

Publisher Greg Sellentin, and Managing Editor Amanda Byrd, are both accomplished mushers who feel it is very important to put together a team of writers and photographers who are also mushers and "insiders" in the sport. They feel this is a really important part of the process of making the magazine as authoritative, up-to-date, and pertinent as possible.

"Our goal is to showcase the beauty and adventure inherent in this amazing sport, and to create the visually interesting, entertaining, informative and authoritative magazine our readers deserve. Our aim is to have our readers feel really excited when their issue arrives in the mail.
